How Kilter works, and what you can hold us to
Kilter Agency is a digital marketing agency. We do SEO, AI search, websites and social media for South African businesses, and we judge all four the same way: by the calls, forms and WhatsApps they bring in.
You shouldn't have to take that on trust, so the enquiry counts come from tracking you can check and our prices are on this page.
We track enquiries to their source
Tracking goes in during the first month, before anything else changes: call tracking numbers, form and WhatsApp logging, and a count of last month's enquiries so there's a baseline to measure against. From then on we can tie a call, form or WhatsApp to whatever produced it: your Google Maps listing, a page on your site or a Meta ad that opens WhatsApp.
We start there because a report without it can only show traffic. Nobody banks a page view.
The monthly report fits on one page
It shows:
- enquiries by source: Google Maps calls, organic search, Meta ads and referrals from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini
- what each enquiry cost, with our fee counted in the total
- what we're changing next month, and why
Impressions, reach and rankings go in the appendix. We read them to catch problems early, but we don't ask you to judge us on them. The homepage shows an example report, so you can see the layout before you sign anything.
Our prices are published
SEO starts at R7,500 a month and websites at R14,500. We're not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices. The SEO pricing and website pricing pages list what each package includes and what it leaves out, so you can hold another quote up against ours line by line.
In September 2026 we checked the 12 South African agencies that ranked most often across 19 Google searches. Seven of them don't publish a pricing page. We'd rather you knew the number before we speak.
Contract terms
Contracts run for three months minimum, then month to month. Both pricing pages say the same.
Who owns the domain, site and accounts?
You do. The domain, hosting, Analytics and Business Profile are set up in your name, and we're given access. We never hold back your domain, site or logins, even over an unpaid invoice.
Ask for both in writing before you sign with anyone, us included.
Do you work with businesses outside Cape Town?
Yes. All the work and every meeting happen online, so we work with clients anywhere in South Africa. We're based in Cape Town.
The first 90 days
It starts before you sign. Send us your website and within 3 working days you'll have a written audit: how you show up on Google and Google Maps, a quick AI check of 5 prompts in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Gemini, what's broken, and the five fixes we'd make first.
Month 1
Tracking first, then the fixes from the audit. Google Maps and technical fixes can move within a few weeks. A new page for a competitive search usually takes three to six months to rank, so we start it early.
Months 2 and 3
Each monthly report sets enquiries against the month 1 baseline. By the third report there's enough to compare the paid sources with each other, though it's still too soon to judge new pages.

Kilter is a team, and the people who plan your work are the people who do it. Between us we've worked with 130+ clients in South Africa, the UK and the US.
You'll talk to the people doing the work. There's no account manager passing messages along.
