Construction website design and marketing for builders

Few people choose a builder for a new house or a second storey within a week, and that's the pace our construction website design and SEO are built for. Before asking for a quote, people look at your past projects, check you're registered, ask friends and come back to your website more than once.

So for home builders, renovators and contractors in South Africa, construction marketing is mostly about staying findable and believable for months: a site that shows finished work properly, pages for the jobs you want more of, and quote requests traced to where they came from, and to the signed job if you tell us which ones you win.

No one may carry on the business of a home builder unless registered with the NHBRC (Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act 95 of 1998, section 10).

Choosing a builder takes months

A broad, local start

"Builders in Durbanville", "home renovations Cape Town", "building cost per square metre". People start wide and local, and Google shows a map of builders above the ordinary results. A Business Profile with project photos and reviews gets you onto the shortlist.

Then they check you out

Once you're on a shortlist, the searches narrow: your company name plus "reviews", whether you're NHBRC-registered, photos of finished houses, how long a build takes. A project gallery that gives each job its brief, suburb and timeline answers most of that before they phone.

Few enquiries, big jobs

A builder needs a handful of serious quote requests for the right kind of work. A pile of "how much for a boundary wall" enquiries can be worth less than one extension. So we aim the pages at the jobs you want, and the quote form asks enough (job type, suburb, budget range, start date) to sort the serious ones.

Our work for builders and contractors

Construction website design

A site built around your projects, with a quote request on every page and photos that load fast on a phone. The domain, the site and the logins are in your name. We never hold back your domain, site or logins, even over an unpaid invoice. Websites start at R14,500, and there's more on web design.

A write-up of every finished project

Each project gets its own page with photos, the brief, the suburb, the size and how long it took, such as "double-storey extension in Durbanville". Those pages rank for local searches and give people the proof they want. A gallery of photos with no words gives Google nothing to read.

Pages for the work you want more of

New builds, extensions, renovations, kitchens, waterproofing, commercial fit-outs: a page for each service you want more of, with what it involves, what affects the price and how long it usually takes. If you'd rather stop doing bathrooms, there's no bathroom page.

Quote requests that sort themselves

A quote form that asks for the type of job, the suburb, a budget range and the start date, so you can see which requests are worth a site visit. Each request is tagged with where it came from.

Your Business Profile, updated as jobs finish

Service areas set to where you build, new project photos as each job finishes, and a review request at handover.

NHBRC registration

If you build homes, the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act 95 of 1998 applies. Under section 10(1), no person may "carry on the business of a home builder" unless they are a registered home builder, and section 10(2) says: "No home builder shall construct a home unless that home builder is a registered home builder." Registration is with the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC), set up under the same Act.

Parliament has passed a replacement, the Housing Consumer Protection Act 25 of 2024, which brings extensions and renovations of existing homes under the NHBRC too. The President signed it on 20 December 2024, but in October 2025 the Minister of Human Settlements told Parliament it hadn't commenced and that until it does, the NHBRC works under the 1998 Act (reply to Parliament, NW5828).

For your marketing, that makes your NHBRC registration number worth showing on your website, your Business Profile and your quotes, where a client checking you out will find it. If you renovate or contract without building homes, ask the NHBRC whether registration applies to you now and once the new Act starts. We only put registration numbers on your site that you hold.

Quote requests over twelve months

One page, built around quote requests, because one good job is worth more than a month of clicks.

Quote requests by source

Forms, calls and WhatsApps from Google Maps, organic search and social media, each counted separately.

Requests by job type

New builds, extensions, renovations and the rest, so you can see whether enquiries match the work you want.

Requests worth a site visit

How many requests met your minimum budget or job size, going by the answers in the quote form.

Twelve-month total

Quote requests, and jobs won if you tell us, over the last twelve months. In a business with long sales cycles, one month on its own says little.

Next month

The change we'd make next, and why, such as writing up two more extensions because extension pages bring in the best requests.

Our prices are on the site

Seven of the twelve South African agencies that rank most often on Google don't publish a pricing page. We'd rather you knew before we speak.

12 agencies checked across 19 searches, September 2026.

Three months, judged over twelve

  1. Step Month 1: Choosing projects to write up

We go through your finished projects with you to pick the ones worth writing up: jobs you want more of, with good photos. Tracking goes on the site and your Business Profile, with last month's quote requests and calls as the baseline.

  2. Step Month 2: Project and service pages

The first project pages go live, each with photos, the brief, the suburb and the timeline, along with pages for your main services. Your Business Profile gets the same photos.

  3. Step Month 3: Reviews and the first full report

A review request at handover, the first full month of quote requests by source and job type, and what we'll change in month four. Because builds are slow to sell, the report keeps a running twelve-month total next to the monthly figures.

What builders want to know

Websites start at R14,500. Our website pricing page lists what each package includes. We're not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices.

Yes, and we'd rather. Clients want to see your own finished work. If some photos are old or dark, we'll tell you which projects are worth reshooting.

If you build homes, section 10 of the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act requires you to be registered, and clients can check a builder's registration on the NHBRC's website. Showing the number on your site and profile saves them the search.

Profile and website fixes can bring in more requests within a few weeks. Project and service pages usually take three to six months to rank for competitive searches, and because builds take months to sell, we judge the work over a year.

Yes. All the work and every meeting happen online, so we work with clients anywhere in South Africa. We're based in Cape Town.

How your finished projects show up online

A client checking you out will search your name and look through your projects. We'll do the same on Google and Maps, run a quick AI check of 5 prompts in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Gemini, then send back the five fixes we'd make first.
