Digital marketing for security companies, suburb by suburb

Armed response is sold area by area, so our digital marketing for security companies is planned around the zones your vehicles can reach in time, and the report counts calls and signed contracts for each one. The work is SEO and websites, for armed response companies and for CCTV, alarm and access-control installers.

Installers get hired differently. A homeowner wants cameras quoted before the weekend. A body corporate wants access control for the whole complex, and photos of a complex you've already done. We build pages for both, with your PSiRA registration number on each.

16,704 PSiRA-registered security businesses were operating in June 2026, 1,421 of them in the Western Cape (reply to Parliament, NW2477).

Active security businesses rose from 8,195 in 2015 to 17,146 at 31 March 2025 (PSiRA Annual Report 2024/25).

In 2022/23, 7,151 registered security businesses offered reaction services and 5,026 offered security equipment installation, and one business can offer both (PSiRA Annual Report 2022/23).

How people look for armed response and installers

People search for armed response by place: "armed response companies in cape town", a suburb name, or "near me" on a phone. Google usually puts a map with three companies above the websites, and Google Business Profile Help says local results are "mainly based on relevance, distance, and popularity" (checked October 2026). If you respond in Durbanville, Kraaifontein and Brackenfell, you need to be relevant in each of them. That takes a page for each, and a Business Profile wherever you have a branch.

Some of the searching is noise. When we typed "armed response" into Google in October 2026, the suggestions included "armed response jobs in cape town", "armed response salary" and "armed response training". Those people want work, so a count of "armed response" searches overstates how many homeowners are looking for a response company. When we choose which area pages to write first, we leave job, salary and training searches out of the numbers.

Installers see two kinds of search. Homeowners type "cctv installation cape town" or "alarm installation near me" and want a price. Estates, complexes and businesses look for access control and camera systems, and a page showing a site like theirs answers their first question.

What we set up for each response area

Response-area pages

A page for each suburb or zone you respond in: the estates and main roads you cover, how your control room and vehicles work there, your PSiRA number, and a button to call or WhatsApp. We build pages only for areas you can serve, because a contract you can't honour costs more than it earns.

A Business Profile for each branch

Each branch gets its own Google Business Profile, with its service areas, categories, hours and photos of your vehicles and control room, linked to the page for that area.

Installer service pages

For CCTV, alarm and access-control work, a page per system, with the brands you install, the kinds of site you've done and photos of real installations.

Reviews

A WhatsApp message asking for a Google review after every installation and callout. We draft a reply to every review, the good and the bad. That includes the one about the 2am false alarm. Google's Maps content policy doesn't let a business selectively ask for positive reviews, so the message goes to everyone. Google Business Profile Help says more reviews and positive ratings can help a business's local ranking (both checked October 2026).

Tracking by area

Calls, forms and WhatsApps logged by suburb and by source, so you can see which areas bring in signed contracts and which only bring in quotes.

PSiRA registration

Section 1 of the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001 lists what counts as a security service. The list includes providing a reactive or response service to safeguard people or property, installing, servicing or repairing security equipment, and monitoring signals or transmissions from electronic security equipment. Security equipment includes alarm systems, CCTV and access-control devices.

Section 20(1)(a) says nobody, apart from the security services in section 199 of the Constitution, may render a security service for reward unless they're registered as a security service provider. So the installer and the control room need to be registered as much as the armed response company does.

In the 2025/26 financial year, 2,427 security businesses that had been operating were suspended or withdrawn (reply to Parliament NW2477, 2 June 2026). We put your registration number on every area page and in your Business Profile, where a homeowner comparing companies will see it.

Calls and contracts, by area

It fits on one page. Rankings and impressions go in the appendix.

Enquiries by area

Calls, forms and WhatsApps for each suburb or zone, so you can see which areas are growing and which have gone quiet.

Contracts signed

Which enquiries became contracts, by area and by source, taken from your sales records. Enquiries from areas you don't cover are counted separately.

Cost per contract

Our fee and any ad spend divided by contracts signed, so you can set what a contract costs to win against what it pays you each month.

Installer quotes

For installation work, quote requests by system (CCTV, alarms, access control) and how many became jobs.

Our prices are on the site

Seven of the twelve South African agencies that rank most often on Google don't publish a pricing page. We'd rather you knew before we speak.

Your first 90 days

  1. Step Month 1: Response zones and branch profiles

Call tracking and form and WhatsApp logging go in first, with last month's enquiries counted as the baseline. You give us the suburbs and zones you respond in, and we rebuild the Business Profile for each branch.

  2. Step Month 2: Area and installer pages

We write pages for the areas where you can take on more homes without adding a vehicle, and link each one from the Business Profile of the branch that covers it. Then we fix the installer pages.

  3. Step Month 3: Reviews and the first comparison

Review requests go out after every installation and callout. The third report compares calls and contracts by area with the month 1 baseline. Maps changes often show by now, while new area pages can take three to six months to rank.

Questions security companies ask

We work with one armed response company per response area, so two of our clients never compete for the same suburbs.

Not always. We start with the suburbs where you most want new homes and write those properly, and small neighbouring suburbs can share a page. Google's spam policies give pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page as an example of doorway abuse (Google Search Central, checked October 2026), so we don't build copies with only the suburb name changed.

Yes. Section 1 of the PSIRA Act counts installing, servicing or repairing security equipment as a security service, and section 20(1)(a) says anyone rendering a security service for reward must be registered as a security service provider.

Business Profile fixes can bring calls within a few weeks, while new area pages for competitive suburbs usually take three to six months to rank. Either way, the month 1 baseline shows you the change as a number.
